You can also write from inside the app
Settings › Feedback sends the text you write, your selected topic, an optional reply address, app version, device model, iOS version and the active model name. Version 4.4 does not automatically attach chats, pictures, notes or logs. Nothing is sent until you press Send. The privacy policy describes the services used and older versions' optional attachments.
Which iPhone Anvil needs
An iPhone 15 Pro or later. Anvil runs a multi-gigabyte model on the phone itself, so it asks for the performance tier that starts there; the App Store won't offer it on anything below. You'll also want several gigabytes free for the model.
The first run asks me to download something

Anvil ships without a model and lets you pick one, so there's one download on first launch — Anvil Core, about 2.6 GB over Wi-Fi. It resumes if it's interrupted, and you can leave it and start it later from Settings.
You don't have to wait for it. Under the download button there's a way straight into the app: Continue with Apple Intelligence if your iPhone has Apple Intelligence switched on, and Continue to app while downloading if it doesn't. Either one opens the chat immediately.
A download stopped, or won't finish
Each piece is checked against its hash before it's kept, so a bad piece is fetched again rather than quietly installed. If it's stuck, check you're on Wi-Fi and have room to spare, then start it again from Settings › Chat, where Anvil Core has its own row — it picks up where it left off rather than starting over.
Anvil Pro, and how to cancel
Pro is sold through the App Store as a monthly auto-renewing subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase, and it adds unlimited image generation, unlimited Web Search, Talk Mode, unlimited written notes and meeting-audio storage, a custom system prompt, sampling controls, and every theme and app icon. The free app includes two images a day, five Web Search queries a day, ten written notes, five minutes of saved meeting audio and passcode lock in Settings › Security. The free Web Search allowance resets at midnight UTC.
Lifetime is paid once and never renews. Monthly renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling is done in your Apple Account settings, not in Anvil — open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. We can't cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf; Apple handles refunds.
Bought Pro already and it isn't showing? Settings › Get Anvil Pro › Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with — that's the usual reason.
Where my things are kept
Chats, notes, meeting recordings, memories and pictures are stored on your iPhone. Optional Web Search and reports can send content as described in the privacy policy. Settings offers Export chats and Delete all chats.
iCloud backup is off unless you turn it on. Meeting audio and transcripts, chat photos and downloaded models are excluded. Its content is encrypted in your own private iCloud database; end-to-end encryption requires Advanced Data Protection. Anvil's servers do not receive that backup content. Turning backup off keeps the existing copy. Settings › iCloud › Delete iCloud backup removes records the app can identify and turns backup off on this phone. The privacy policy explains older-format and interrupted-upload limits; iOS's iCloud storage management also provides controls for Anvil's stored data.
Talk Mode isn't speaking
Talk Mode is part of Pro. In a chat it's the waveform button where Send sits when the message field is empty. It reads replies aloud and keeps going with the screen locked. If it's silent, check the ring/silent switch and that Anvil has the microphone in the Settings app.
